My Inspiration

As stated previously in my, "Hi and Welcome!" blog post, my great grandmother was the main focus of sparking my interest in Occupational Therapy. She was the sassiest little lady who loved her lipstick, grandkids, butterflies and hummingbirds. I shared so many fond memories with her before she got very sick. She and my great-grandfather (who just turned 90-years-old last month!!) used to own a butterfly and hummingbird plant nursery. I would go and help her sell plants at farmer's markets, play with butterflies and make potato salad! She was truly a gem! My great grandfather told me he was thrilled that I was attending Occupational Therapy school because he now has to receive care as well. He raved about how much appreciation he had towards his Occupational Therapist, and I cannot wait to have this type of impact on someone's life in the future.
